I started making pictures in the late ‘70s and started learning the craft in the ‘80s. I began working professionally in 1995 as a sports, reportage and wedding photographer with clients all across the country. Opening my first studio in 1998, I specialized in editorial portraits and content creation. Over the past twenty four years, I’ve worked with thousands of corporate and private clients creating images for commercial and personal use.
Personally, the focus of my work since the early 2000’s has been working with teens, photographing athletes and actors to creative artists and scholars. I have assisted a number of clients start their professional modeling careers and have mentored dozens of brilliant kids pursuing careers in photography and design.
I am enjoying a very long, successful and rewarding career, full of wonderful relationships and nothing brings me greater joy and overwhelming fulfilment than watching the young adults I have mentored succeed in their own careers. I’m occasionally asked by colleagues at industry events to write a memoir of all that I have experienced in my career but I have so much more to do that it would be incomplete. But when I do, I’ll be sure to include my “Joey’s Dirtbag Moves” list of comical faux pas. Promise. Until then, let’s have some fun and create something special together.
